Description

A new pure Java image library has recently been released called Sanselan. It is open source, so Bio-Formats could utilize it as an alternative for certain formats, as well as easy support for a couple of additional formats.

The challenge is to come up with a good way to decide which reader to use when multiple different readers appear to support a particular file; see ticket #173 for more details.

We already support everything that Sanselan supports, so I see no value added in using this library.
