Tried this with TRI2 (albeit version 2.6.1) and get a range of 0 to 1.#IOe+000 for A and -1.#IOe+000 to 16.86 for Z.
Since this is essentially the same behavior as TRI2 I will close this bug.
Now that the initial cursor estimates are improved this doesn't happen so often (See Trac #740)
For the file gpl1.sdt, RLD+LMA, single exp., max likelihood, cursors 0/30/57 or 0.0/4.6875/8.9063, threshold 100, chisquare target 1.5. The Z fitted image has a range of -infinity to 16.858 and is all black, all black LUT on histogram tool. The A fitted image has a range of 16.194 to infinity and is all black, with an all blue LUT on the histogram tool.
